My approach-Relational (3)_edited.jpg

Relational

We are constantly interacting with our inner and outer worlds, and as human beings; we are hard wired for connection.  However, many of us feel incredibly disconnected from ourselves and those around us.  I incorporate a relational approach to therapy by gently guiding my clients toward connection with the various “parts” of themselves, encouraging exploration of their relationships with others in their lives and their external environments, and cultivating a therapeutic relationship that is built on trust, safety, and deep compassion. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist is absolutely integral to the therapy process.

Experiential

Through the utilization of experiential methods such as meditation, breathwork, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and ketamine assisted psychotherapy, I help my clients connect to themselves and their inner wisdom.  These methods help to slow down activity in the Default Mode Network (DMN), a region of the brain which is believed to be responsible for the “ego,” sense of self, judgment, and more.  By utilizing experiential methods such as ketamine assisted psychotherapy and breathwork, my clients are able to move through ego- based patterns of thought that keep them feeling “stuck” in habitual and ingrained responses to our inner and outer worlds.  When the DMN is less active, there is room for more spontaneous insights to emerge for processing and to be integrated.  Clients often report feeling deep peace, calmness, clarity, a sense of unity, positive mood, and less judgment related to themselves/ others.

My approach- Transpersonal_edited.jpg

A transpersonal approach to therapy goes beyond conventional psychological perspectives and incorporates spiritual and transformative dimensions of the human experience.  This approach recognizes that individuals have the potential for self- transcendence, meaning making, and connection to something bigger than themselves.  I deeply respect the individuality of my clients’ spiritual experiences and recognize the interplay between spiritual and psychological development.  Transpersonal therapy may also include meditation practices, and symbolic exploration to access deeper layers of the psyche and facilitate transformation.  Overall, a transpersonal approach to therapy invites clients to explore the spiritual dimensions of their lives, supporting personal growth, self-transcendence, and a broader understanding of their place in the world.

Transpersonal

Integrative

In non- ordinary states of consciousness, such as those accessed via ketamine assisted therapy, breathwork, or other experiential methods, we can gain profound insights into unhealed traumas, patterns, and experiences… but what do we do with them?  Integration is the process of turning “states” into “traits,” by building upon insights in practical ways.  Through the process of integration, the goal is not simply to be “happy,” but rather to be whole.  To be able to navigate and embrace the ups and downs of life, to ride the wave, to flow down the river, even when the rapids come.
